FT-100KM-5 100 km Passive Dispersion Compensation Module
The FT-100KM-5 is a purely passive dispersion compensation module that corrects chromatic dispersion for up to 100 km of standard single-mode G.652 fiber in the C-band. Housed in a single-slot 1U 19-inch rack chassis, it sits at optical communication nodes, typically alongside a booster or pre-amplifier, to leave optimized residual dispersion for DWDM, SDH and CATV transmission systems. Because the compensation is protocol transparent from 10 Mbps to 40 Gbps, the same module serves single-channel and multi-channel links without touching the signal format. Compensation lengths from 10 to 140 km are available in 10 km steps, and the module keeps end-to-end insertion loss low.
